Rainforest2Reef’s mission is to protect and maintain ecosystem services, and slow climate change by safeguarding tropical forests, coral reefs and the corridors connecting these threatened habitats.
There humble beginnings in a two-story apartment in San Francisco to a win in a lottery of the internet boom, came about from “I’m not bringing kids into this messed up world until we do something really big to make it a better place for them”. They took this payoff and spend it all to make the world a better place.
On meeting Dr.Gerardo curator of Mexico’s Cuixmala-Chamela Reserve they found just the right cause in the plight of the Calakmul Reserve to pour their money and efforts into a vast area under heavy pressure from cattle ranching, forestry and other destructive pressures.
Rainforests provide man with many modern medicines, that may be needed one day for our survival; that of the animal kingdom and climate change, trees are our life source.
